Svay Rieng Province: Several hectares of a sugarcane plantation owned by Mr. Kuy Saren were set on fire on October 22, 2018, in Kiksom commune, Svay Teap district, Svay Rieng province.
It took 2 hours to completely control the blaze.
Police in Svay Teap district said that the burned sugarcane plantation totaled 6.50 Hectares.
The farmer complained that his crops was frequently raided by thieves, and that this was a case of arson, by unknown fire-starters. Now he’s worried that his business faces bankruptcy after the loss of so much produce.
