16 Chinese Detained After Mass Brawl

Banteay Meanchey: 16 Chinese people were arrested at 12am on 21 October 2018 at Poipet I Village, Poipet Town, Banteay Meanchey Province.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Heng Lyhour, deputy chief of police in Poipet, said that evening a near riot had broken out between groups of Chinese who had been drinking at a KTV.

About 20 to 30 men, armed with metal bars began attacking each other, causing injuries. 13 Chinese nationals were arrested at the scene, and another 3 were rounded up later in Poipet city.

After the detention, the 16 Chinese nationals were sent to the Banteay Meanchey provincial police to take legal action.
