Kampot Dam Warning Issued

Kampot: According to this notice, issued on October 20, 2018, Kampot’s Disaster Management Committee are warning residents close to the dam, and asking local and district authorities near the waterways to pay extra special attention and be prepared to evacuate citizens in case of emergency…..

The Disaster Management Committee confirmed that the Kamchay Hydroelectric Power Company’s technical team had opened the doors to release water gradually from the dam on October 20, 2018.

The announcement confirms that the opening of the water will cause floods in some geographical areas, villages and communes along the water.
