Foreigners Caught up in Kampong Spue Dam Collapse

Kampong Speu: Authorities on the afternoon of October 20, 2018 said that at 9 am there were serious floods near Chum Kos village, Chambok commune, Phnom Sruoch district, Kompong Speu province. The flooding severely damaged the 120 meter long dam, causing a breach.

There were immediate reports of 10 people missing in the aftermath, including three foreigners, but all were later accounted for and are now safe.

Authorities said that the cause of the dam failure was a result of torrential rain overnight, resulting in floods.
