Tree Breaks 5th Floor Jumper’s Fall
Phnom Penh: A man was taken to Calmette Hospital after jumping from the fifth floor in a suicide bid.
The shocking incident occurred at 9:00pm on Sunday, September 30, 2018 near the hotel on Monivong Boulevard in Monorom district, 7 Makara district, Phnom Penh.
The victim was not yet identified, but it is thought he is a 19 year old from Takeo who had argued with his girlfriend.
A source told the TNN agency that before the incident, he and the man had sat down together with other friends drinking. The victim went to the house and jumped out of the fifth floor. A tree in the street below broke his fall, and although the victim was still alive, he was seriously injured. Shocked residents reported the incident to the police.
Another source told TNN that a few minutes later, relatives of the victim’s family came to the scene, crying loudly. One of them was the man’s girlfriend, who sat down and hugged the man, and didn’t answer journalists questions.
An ambulance from Calmette hospital arrived and took the man to hospital.
The authorities demanded that a men drinking with the victim and his girlfriend help clarify the incident at the station.
