Murder on the Wat Dance Floor

Stung Treng: A villager who died after being sent to a hospital in Stung Treng province with stab wounds.

The fatal stabbing happened at a pagoda on the fourth day of Pchum Ben, in Kaing Chan village, Kaang Cham commune, Thalathivat district, on the night of September 28, 2018.

According to local authorities,  there was a dance party at the pagoda in Kaing Chham commune. At night, children were dancing, and playing when a fight broke out. 

Villagers saw the incident and went stop the dispute, but a knife was pulled and a man stabbed.

Police have confirmed that a villager named Oeun Phoeun, 37, died in hospital. A man, named Suthe, 23, from the village was arrested and questioned.

The district police officer is investigating other relevant persons involved to file a case to the police chief.
