Bad Debtor Busted in Wing Sting
Banteay Meanchey: A female was given a detention order by the court after she was accused of scamming an Australian-Khmer man out of $ 2,000.
The suspect, Heang Srey Neang, 23, lives in Malai District, Banteay Meanchey Province.
She met her Khmer-Australian victim through FaceBook and struck up an online relationship.
According to the source, she asked to borrow the money gradually via the mother of the victim living in Siem Reap and promised to repay it. But that promise was nothing but a comfort to a fool. After racking up a debt $ 2,000, which was used to buy two phones, the victim’s mother filed a complaint to Siem Reap’s gendarmerie.
The two armed police forces detained the suspect on September 25, 2018, at a Wing outlet in Kandal village, Somrong commune, O Chrov district, Banteay Meanchey province, after she was lured there in a sting operation under the pretext of receiving more cash.
