Phnom Penh Pig Factory Inspected

Phnom Penh: A pig slaughterhouse  has been inspected and issued a warning after complaints from neighbors. they say the smell and noise from pigs being killed disturbs their sleep.

Authorities said that after receiving reports that the abattoir was affecting people’s health and noise complaints, the commune chief ordered his subordinates to question the owner and make him agree to measures to prevent disturbing others.

The owner, Mr. Nhem Samak agreed and followed the instructions of the Sangkat authorities. The location is close to the Southeast Asian Television building in Tuek Thla, and residents say it should move outside the city.

Citizens appealed to the authorities more the slaughterhouse to a new location because there were still more criticisms about the business.
